1 of 1 Remodeling is led by owners Dylan Kmetz and Matt Casto, who personally run every kitchen, bathroom, basement, and addition project across Columbus, Ohio, from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.

A Note from Matt
I grew up in the construction industry. My dad owned a construction business, and from an early age, I knew I wanted to work in the trades too. After high school, I joined the family business and never looked back.

When my dad retired in 2009, I started my own company and ran it for the next decade. In 2019, with three kids in middle school, I decided it was time for a change and began managing projects for other local remodeling companies.
​
That’s where I met Dylan. We shared a vision for a company that would give homeowners quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and the personal attention of an owner-operated team. My experience running a business and managing projects, paired with Dylan’s craftsmanship, became the foundation for 1 of 1 Remodeling.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, going to the gym, boating, and finding just about any reason to stay active.

A Note from Dylan
My passion for residential remodeling began at an early age when I became a foreman for a residential concrete foundation company. That experience taught me that the most important parts of a home, or any project, are often the ones you never see.

From there, a family member encouraged me to learn carpentry. I began working as a trim and cabinet carpenter before moving into the design-build remodeling industry, first as a lead carpenter and later as a project manager for some of the area’s larger firms. Along the way, I developed a strong understanding of estimating, building codes, permitting, and every phase of the residential remodeling process. It was also during this time that I met my future business partner.

Together, we founded 1of1 Remodeling to combine the quality and organization of a large design-build firm with the value and personal attention of a small, owner-operated company. I believe great remodeling experiences are built on trust, clear communication, and exceptional craftsmanship. Our clients work directly with us, and I remain personally involved on every job site to ensure each detail meets our standards.
